| Maximum Diving Depth: 61 meters - Recommended Diving Depth 54 - 59 meters
Facts:
This requisitioned 623 ton minesweeper, which served for the British Royal Navy in the eastern fleet, was launched in 1914.
History:
Not much is known about her fate, except that the same day Force Z was destroyed, the 10th December 1941, she was hit by a mine about 21nm north of Tioman. The same mine belt that also sunk the two Dutch submarines O16 and K XVII.
Diving:
The Banka lies completely upright in 59 meters of water and only one mile away from the Dutch submarine K17. The moment you arrive at the deck of this about 40 meter long wreck, you will realise the incredible fish life. The bow reveals the gun and while you swim towards stern you can see the damage done to mid ship from the mine. The completely fallen in deck allows a diver to explore the inside protected by sometimes strong currents. A lot of debris can be found including some unused depth charges.
Not far away from Tioman, she makes an excellent dive on a one day trip.
