B&J and PADI Project AWARE
|
|
Ever since B&J Diving Centre on Tioman was established back in 1986, we have cared a lot about our environment. We're trying to keep our oceans clean and less polluted with as much effort as possible. This is not always an easy task in Malaysia since e.g. recycling or proper waste management is almost unheard of. However, there are issues where we can do our part and that is mainly in regards of our dive sites and the local beaches. Whenever we find trash on a dive site we collect it. When it is reported to us that fishing nets are covering a reef, we do our outmost to free the coral from this threat. Every year we coordinate the CMC/Project AWARE International Costal/Shoreline Clean up Day for Tioman Island. We organize collections of the coral eating Crown of Thorns sea star and participate in Reef Check programs. On these pages you find out more about our efforts to safe the oceans. Write us for more details or if you like participate in one of the programs. |
