PADI Project AWARE - International Cleanup Day
|
|
Every year, the Center for Marine Conservation (CMC) together with PADI Project AWARE is organizing an International Beach/Shoreline Cleanup Day, held in the 3rd week of September. During the cleanup day in 2003, more than 450'000 people collected over 7.5 million pounds of debris from more than 16'000 miles of shoreline and waterways. Volunteers from 91 different countries were participating in 2003. Since 1998, B&J Diving Centre is the official cleanup coordinator for Tioman Island. In 2005 the event was held on September 17./18. |
