International Cleanup Day - page 2

| We usually organize as many local children
as possible to clean up the beaches in Salang Bay and ABC Beach. This
is not only an opportunity to have more helping hands, but it also gives
us a chance to educate the next generation in regards of environmental
conservation. In average more than 70 local children are participating
in this yearly event. After a briefing by the Tioman Marine Park authorities on shore-/marine life and environmental issues, they are split up in small groups to collect debris in a "beach cleanup competition". They normally manage to collect over 400 pounds of rubbish! |
