From Tanjung Gemok to Tioman Island

Tanjung Gemok is located approximately 45min north of Mersing and due to the large river mouth they do not depend on high tide to run ferries.

Bluewater Express (+60 9413 1362) is still the only ferry operator and runs large speed ferries between Tanjung Gemok and Tioman.

The journey takes around 1 1/2 to 2 hours and we highly recommend to bring some warm clothing in your hand luggage as it might get cold inside.

We do not have an agent in Tanjung Gemok thus you have to book your tickets directly with Bluewater Ferries (+60 9413 1362). Remember to book tickets early as they’re regularly sold out.

Take note that after the ticket collection you will also need to pay a Marinepark fee directly to the Marinepark authorities at the jetty in cash (it’s cheaper here than in Mersing – currently MYR 5.00 for locals or MYR 30.00 for foreigners).
