ACCOMMODATION

There is a good variety of small resorts available in Salang Bay and ABC Bay. All resorts are rather simple but clean and with balconies attached to the rooms. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, whereas aircon bungalows usually come with hot water shower and a sink and basic fan bungalows only with cold water shower and without sink.

In Salang Bay you can find four medium and four small resorts and in ABC five medium and five small resorts offering fan cooled to air-conditioned bungalows.

B&J is working closely with most of the resorts and you can place your booking for diving, accommodation and transporation directly through us. The smaller resorts and backpacker resorts only accept either direct bookings or no advance booking at all.

Please note, that proper room service is not common on Tioman Island. Rooms are cleaned whenever you leave your key at the reception. Accommodation does not include meals, so you can have all the flexibility of enjoying the different restaurants in Salang Bay and ABC, where they serve local and western dishes, with the highlight being the fresh seafood BBQ’s.

Resorts in Salang Bay

Resorts in ABC (Air Batang)

Salang Indah Resort:
This medium size resort has the largest choice of rooms, you can have family size bungalows right on the Beach or Fan cooled rooms in the sloping hillside.

Salang Indah is perfectly located directly at the beach and all seafront aircon rooms offer stunning seaview.

Most of the bungalows are built on stilts and if you're staying in one of the seafront bungalows then the ocean rhythm will rock you gently to sleep at night.

Pondok Sri Salang:

Pondok Sri Salang is a small sized resort with fan and air-con bungalows which is set back in a lush and very quite garden area.

The rooms are spacious and clean and are preferred by many travellers. It's just a minutes stroll away from the beach or a few minutes to our dive centre.

Puteri Salang Inn :

Pueteri Salang Inn is a very small family run operation with A-Frame aircon and fan huts close to the rainforest. It's about a two minutes walk from the beach and pretty cosy and fair priced.

Salang Beach Resort :

This medium size resort offers air-con and fan bungalows close by the beach at the northern end of Salang Bay. They only accept pre-bookings via agents or from the mainland, since their their management is in Mersing.

The front row of bungalows has a very nice view of Salang Bay and Coral Island, unfortunately the back rows is very crowded.

Nazri I Resort:
Nazri I Resort is located at the southern end of ABC Bay. It's the resort with the best rooms and also the best beach in ABC. They have a variety of fan and aircon bungalows/rooms and offer a good selection of food. Anita's Pizza place is a favourite hangout in the evenings. It's a good 10 minutes walk from there to our dive shop.

Nazri II Resort :

Nazri II Resort is on the northern end of ABC Bay and just a short stroll away from our dive shop. The resort has nice rooms with garden or sea view and is very close to the beach. Nazri II's restaurant serves some of the best food available in ABC. You'll find dishes from the West, India or Malaysia and the portions are big.

Johan's Resort :

Johan's small backpacker resort is right next to our dive centre. This family run business is offering fair priced rooms with aircon, fan or even dormitories. The restaurant serves local cuisine and BBQ seafood and the small minimarket has everything you might need during your stay on Tioman Island.

ABC Cottages :

ABC Cottages (some call it ABC Chalet) is a nice small resort right at the northern beach in Air Batang. They have a variety of rooms for you to choose from and a typical local restaurant that serves delicious food.

Tioman House :

Tioman House used to be a backpackers resort with fan rooms only but in 2008 they built a few large AC bungalows. It's maybe some of the best accommodation available in ABC since the rooms are large, clean and have a nice bathroom. They currently charge MYR 150.00 per night / bungalow. Tioman House is right next to our dive shop.
