From Singapore
By Air:
Berjaya Air offers one flight a day from Seletar Airport in Singapore (+65 6481 6302, www.berjaya-air.com). Price (excluding airport taxes) is approx. SGD 132.00 per way. We can organize a pick-up service for you from the airport on Tioman Island, which will cost approx. MYR 30.00 per person (min. 2 pax or MYR 60.00).
By Bus:
Buses leave directly from Singapore to Mersing. The buses depart several times daily from either Lavender Street or Beach Road . The length of the journey is approximately 4 hours and costs around SGD 31.00 per way.
We currently know of two bus companies operating this route: 5 Stars Tours and Transnasional.
Once you arrive in Mersing you have to take a ferry (Bluewater Ferries - +60 7 799 56 96) over to either Ayer Batang (ABC) or Salang Bay on Tioman Island, where we are located.
To make the most out of your trip to Tioman you should take the early morning bus from Singapore
(departs around 6:30am). This way you will reach Tioman just after lunch time (depending on tide and ferry departure times).
By Taxi:
Taxis are available from Singapore to Johor Bahru (JB). Cheapest way is by going to Queens Street, where there is a share taxi stand (SGD 10.00 per person to JB – Kota Raya). Once in JB, you need to get to Larkin Bus station, from which you take an overland taxi (blue in colour) to Mersing. This ride from Singapore to Mersing takes you through rubber and palm oil plantations for 2 hours; it's certainly worth the experience! Cost approx. MYR 200 per way for the whole taxi.
From Kuala Lumpur
By Air:
Berjaya Air offers up to 2 flights a day from Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur (+60 03 784682228, www.berjaya-air.com). Price is approx. MYR 228.00 per way. We can organize a pick-up service for you from the airport on Tioman Island, which will cost MYR 30.00 per person (min. 2 pax).
By Bus:
There are buses leaving directly from Kuala Lumpur to Mersing. The buses depart several times daily from Pudu Raya Bus Terminal (near China Town).
Currently the two companies operating buses to Mersing are Transnasional and S&S International.
The journey takes approximately 6 hours and costs around MYR 30.00 per way.
Once you arrive in Mersing you have to take a ferry (Bluewater Ferries - +60 7 799 56 96) over to either Ayer Batang (ABC) or Salang Bay on Tioman Island, where we are located.
Since the last ferry usually leaves Mersing before 5pm you should either take the nightbus from KL (departs around 11pm) so that you arrive in the early morning in Mersing and can take the 1st ferry over (usually around 7am) or you have to take the first bus in the morning from KL (departs around 9am) and hope that you still catch the last ferry.
By Car:
If you are driving from Kuala Lumpur, take the North-South Highway direction Johor Bahru. Exit at Air Hitam/Kluang and drive through the centre of Kluang. Follow the signs to Mersing. The journey will take approx. 4 to 41/2 hours. There is an open air long-term car park at the jetty in Mersing. From Mersing take a ferry (e.g. Bluewater Ferries - +60 7 799 56 96) to either Ayer Batang (ABC) or Salang Bay on Tioman Island, where we are located.
From Mersing
Bluewater Ferries (+60 07 799 56 96) is at this moment the only operator who runs several speed ferries daily to the different villages on Tioman Island.
Costs are MYR 35.00 per way and the duration of the journey is approx. 2 ½ hours.

From Tanjong Gemuk
There is another ferry terminal available to go to Tioman which is at Tanjong Gemuk in Endau, approx. 45minutes north of Mersing (direction Kuantan). Ferries there are a little less likely to be affected by low tides.
