Submarine K XVII

| The K XVII, a Dutch submarine, launched on 26 July 1932
was based together with the submarine O 16 in Singapore under the British
eastern fleet command. |
| The last recorded contact, reporting of Japanese submarines in the eastern Malaysian area, was received after December 14, 1941. Around the 21st of December 1941, the K 17 hit a line of mines about 21nm north of Tioman Island, the same mine field sunk the O 16 and the Bangka. The K17 sunk and took along all 36 crew members to a depth of about 55 meters to her final resting ground. |
