Submarine K XVII
The K XVII, a Dutch submarine, launched on 26 July 1932 was based together with the submarine O 16 in Singapore under the British eastern fleet command.

The last recorded contact, reporting of Japanese submarines in the eastern Malaysian area, was received after December 14, 1941. Around the 21st of December 1941, the K 17 hit a line of mines about 21nm north of Tioman Island, the same mine field sunk the O 16 and the Bangka. The K17 sunk and took along all 36 crew members to a depth of about 55 meters to her final resting ground.
